Francoeur -more commonly referred to as Frank- was patrolling his forest a bit slower than usual. There was something barely noticeable about his lumber that caught the animals attention compelling them to follow. As he made his route more of his charges steadily joined him in this impromptu parade, and as the sun started casting the long shadows of evening Frank started to lag even more. He sighed as each step became more difficult but clearly was determined to finish his rounds of the forest. The deer and moose stepped in to help steady him on the harsher hills and the bears kept him up right through the more open stretches, the squirrels and chipmunks doing their best to help; Frank giving each one his thanks in their tongue.
